On February 6th and 7th, the NFHS swim team competed at the GHSA 6A Swimming and Diving State Championships. The Raiders had a number of exceptional performances across the board, bringing a large contingent to compete in swimming. Most of the state qualifiers placed in the top 20 and returned for finals with an opportunity to compete with the fastest swimmers in the state. The girls 200 yard medley relay consisting of Nicole Sullivan, Emily Carroll, Rachel Sullivan, and Kelsey Robins made it back to finals on Saturday and placed 18th. The boys 200 medley relay and the boys 400 freestyle relay, both consisting of Tony Scheyer, Jack Dalmolin, Owen Wickman, and Alejandro Garcia, placed in the top 20 also.

In the individual events, Jack Dalmolin, Kelsey Robins, and Owen Wickman all placed in the top 20 on Friday and returned to swim on Saturday for finals. Kelsey broke her previous school record and placed 17th in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.32 seconds. Owen Wickman broke the previous school record in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 53.45 seconds, placing 16th. Jack Dalmolin returned to swim both of his individual events in finals. He placed 9th in the 200 yard freestyle and 5th in the 100 yard breaststroke, breaking school records in both. According to Coach Tyler Martin, “This has been the most successful state meet for North to date.”
