The Lady Raiders Varsity soccer team suffered a loss on Tuesday, March 7, with a final score of 0-4 against The South Forsyth War Eagles.

It was a short time before the South Forsyth War Eagles began to win, scoring a goal in the first 90 seconds of the game. By the end of the first half, they had already scored two more. Sophomore Savannah Cummings, keeper, made many great saves throughout the game. At one time she made a double-save off of a corner kick against the Lady Raiders. She dove for the ball, blocking it and then sliding on the ground to punch the ball out of the box.

Despite the loss, The Lady Raiders Varsity soccer team is hopeful of the season. “Although we didn’t win, it’s still a great opportunity to be playing  with the school and the varsity team. Everyone put their full effort and we really worked as a [team] unit,” Said Junior Rachel Lee, Left Striker. Cummings added, “The first half wasn’t our best, but the second half definitely got better, everyone stepped up.”

The Lady Raiders will be back in action on Tuesday, March 13 against the West Forsyth High School Wolverines.
