On Monday, October 26 a massive 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan and affected surrounding areas such as Pakistan, India, and Tajikistan. The earthquake has caused hundreds of deaths in Pakistan alone. A story released on Monday by CNN spoke of a group of 12 schoolgirls who were trampled while trying to evacuate the area. It also included eyewitness accounts of the catastrophe in multiple different areas. The earthquake has decimated multiple parts of Afghanistan and left the country in a state of chaos.
