Forsyth County’s One Act Competition was held at Denmark High School on Thursday, Oct. 28. One of North’s crew members, Junior Maddox Brock, described the competition as a “highly popular celebration of theater.” She mentioned how the crowd was very engaged in the plays and enjoyed watching each of them. North’s theatre department performed “Nunsense,” and received third place, behind Lambert, placing second, and Denmark, placing first. Some of the performances given by the schools were: “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” by Forsyth Central; “Amelie,” by Lambert; “Curtains,” by Denmark; “The Old Man and The Old Moon,” by South Forsyth; “Chicago,” by West Forsyth; and “Death Trap,” by Gainesville. The All-Star cast is selected to highlight the achievements of the actors, and two of North’s students received this reward: Junior Sarah Hickman and Junior Sophie Jerry. The department is immensely proud of the cast and crew and cannot wait to perform at the competition again next year.
