Through the years you go
We are born into the world that we know
We don’t remember our very first years
In the blink of an eye, that time disappears
Making friends that you may keep forever
Hopefully, in school, you’ll be together
It’s the first day of school, an exciting day
Soon it will end, your first year out of the way
Several years in elementary school over at last
Oh how the years went by so fast
From middle school to high school, the years seem to fly
You walk across the stage with your head held high
Now you’re in college with a bright future ahead
With the snap of your fingers, those years are put to bed
Out of college, you come, with a full head of steam
You hope to be living your lifelong dream
As time continues to tick off the clock
Through the years you still walk
Time does move as fast as it used to
How you got here you haven’t a clue
Children growing up are a sight to behold
Soon you begin to grow gray and old
As the years go slowly by
Of your time there is less supply
Later on, time has almost come to an end
Your time left on Earth, you wish you could extend
This life you lived was to a great extent
Through the years you went
