Ashton Bruce can be described, in a word, as analytical. Analytical isn’t the best word for a creative writer, but in her writing, she strives to make you feel—whether it be sadness, annoyance, anger, or joy. She strives for empathy. In the meantime, however, while she’s not writing, she’s just trying to survive her first year in high school and figure out a way to answer the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” without hyperventilating.
