In January, the coronavirus pandemic began. Many people lost their jobs and homes and the economy crashed from the loss of jobs and businesses closing.  In February, wildfires spread in Australia which were followed by extreme flooding. In March, the coronavirus closed schools, businesses and airlines, which inflicted more damage on the public’s lives and the United States economy.

Throughout April and May, murder hornets were found on the Upper West Coast of the United States. During the summer, rioting and looting emerged in many cities across the country. As the summer finished out, multiple hurricanes took landfall throughout the Gulf of Mexico, which destroyed many cities.

A lot of things have happened this year and there is still two months to go. Many would agree that this year has more to bring. Sophomore Haley Arentsen says, “I think there is going to be one more bad event before the year will end.”

The year 2020 has brought many hardships to the table, and some worry that it isn’t finished. In order to keep everyone safe from the virus and other events, precautions can be taken to prevent spread and ensure safety.
