As of September 9, 2016 there was a gas leak found in a pipeline in Alabama. It has been over a week since the pipe was found broken and no one has been able to fix it yet. People are becoming more and more anxious while driving around and seeing gas stations closing their pumps. There is a limited amount of stations left in Forsyth County that have gas. If the stations do have gas left, the owners are raising prices up to almost $3.00, knowing locals will have to pay it if they want to drive.

Natalie Wilson, a senior editor of the Raider Wire says, “I was coming back from a concert in North Carolina and filled up there before I came home. It was still over $2.00 but that’s nothing compared to the $2.59 I would have paid in Georgia.”

This gas shortage decided to show up at the worst possible time. Fall break is coming up and travelers will be cancelling their plans if they cannot find gas. Hopefully by the end of the week or even sooner, this chaotic inconvenience will be fixed. As of now, people will continue to scurry around town attempting to find gas for a decent price.
